Spotify <3 Dropbox

Recently i´ve been hogging music from FIX UP!, using Spotify to play the mp3 files on my private laptop. At work i´ve been missing the files and haven´t been able to play my FIX UP playlist siince i don´t have the files locally.

The anger and frustration over this message

motivated me to find a solution.

The Solution

  1. Use Spotify to create a playlist
  2. Use Dropbox to hold and distribute the files.

The Spotify playlist will update automatically across computers and so will the Dropbox music directory.

Spotify seems unable to monitor the files in a directory. If you get the "The track is not available" error message on a track that you haven´t imported yet, do so by going to Local files and clicking on Import music and then selecting the music folder in your Dropbox directory.

BTW do you mind if I paste here my referral link which enables new subscribers to get 2.25GB of free storage instead of 2GB ?

Hi, it is a very delicious trick indeed.

I do mind you posting your link here since i was able to send my referral link to own dummy addresses on my domain. Take that as a tip :)

Best regards,
Joar
